Russian official: Drone causes fire at Crimea oil reservoir

A Russia-appointed official in Crimea says a massive fire erupted at an oil reservoir there after it was hit by a drone KYIV, Ukraine -- A massive fire erupted at an oil reservoir in Crimea after it was hit by a drone, a Russia-appointed official there reported Saturday. Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Moscow-installed governor of the Black Sea peninsula's port city of Sevastopol, posted videos and photos of the blaze on his Telegram channel. Razvozhayev said the fire was assigned the highest ranking in terms of how complicated it will be to extinguish. He did not say whether the drone he cited as causing the fire was Ukrainian. Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014, a move that most of the world considered illegal. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said his country is seeking to reclaim the peninsula during Russia's current full-scale invasion. The incident comes a day after Russia fired more than 20 cruise missiles and two drones at Ukraine, killing at least 23 peo...

Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd: Player ratings as Spurs battle to earn comeback draw

FROM TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM - Struggling Tottenham managed to put their recent turmoil to one side to earn a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Thursday. The Red Devils were in cruise control heading into half-time but Ryan Mason's team showed their mental fortitude to come back from two goals down and secure a vital point. Spurs nearly carved Man Utd open with just four minutes on the clock. Pedro Porro managed to side-step past Diogo Dalot and slip through Son Heung-min, who had Harry Kane and Richarlison waiting in the box, but his low cross was poor and easily dealt with. And the hosts were made to pay almost immediately as their visitors went down the other end and broke the deadlock. Marcus Rashford managed to rise a challenge from Oliver Skipp and shift the ball wide to Jadon Sancho, and he cut back onto his left to pick out the far corner of Fraser Forster's net with a fierce strike. Tottenham sought to make amends immediately, with Ivan Perisic's piercing cro...

House Republicans on Wednesday passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act to increase the debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion and cut federal government spending House Republicans on Wednesday passed a bill to increase the nation's debt ceiling while cutting federal government spending -- and while the legislation has no prospect of becoming law, GOP leaders hope it will help force negotiations with Democrats. The proposal, known as the Limit, Save, Grow Act, passed 217-215, with four Republicans joining all Democrats in voting no. If enacted, the bill would increase the debt limit by $1.5 trillion, reduce funding for federal agencies to 2022 fiscal year levels, limit growth in government spending to 1% per year and block various measures backed by the White House, such as federal student debt cancellation and new funding for the IRS. "We cannot sit back and ignore the problem like the president has. I know he does it with the border, and I know he is now doing it with the fiscal policy of...

Mitch Evans scored his second Formula E victory of the season in a Jaguar one-two in a chaotic Berlin E-Prix - the first of two races this weekend. With three laps of additional time added to the initial 40 lap distance, Evans dived up the inside of leader Sebastien Buemi to nab the lead on Lap 40, pulling away as Envision racer Buemi held up Sam Bird in the sister Jaguar. Bird finally got past Buemi on the final lap at Tempelhof, but was too far behind to do anything about Evans as the Kiwi banked his second win on the trot after victory last time out in Sao Paolo. The final podium spot went to Max Gunther, who out-dragged Buemi to the line out of the final corner, as championship leader Pascal Wehrlein took sixth after only qualifying 15th for Porsche. Calling beer Champagne leaves French producers frothing

Belgian customs have destroyed more than 2,000 cans of Miller High Life advertised as the ″Champagne of beers” at the request of houses and growers of the bubbly beverage BRUSSELS -- The guardians of Champagne will let no one take the name of the bubbly beverage in vain, not even a U.S. beer behemoth. For years, Miller High Life used the “Champagne of beers” slogan. This week, that appropriation became impossible to swallow. At the request of the trade body defending the interests of houses and growers of the northeastern French sparkling wine, Belgian customs crushed more than 2,000 cans of Miller High Life advertised as such. The Comité Champagne asked for the destruction of a shipment of 2,352 cans on the grounds that the century-old motto used by the American brewery infringes the protected designation of origin “Champagne.” The consignment was intercepted in the Belgian port of Antwerp in early February, a spokesperson at the Belgian Customs Administration said on Friday, and was ...
